Eva Boyington, President

  •      Mrs. Boyington was elected to the Board in 2019 and began her service as a board member in January 2020. She is currently serving as president.
Mrs. Boyington is originally from Mississippi but she and her husband, Orlando, have called Bedford Heights their home for the past 35 years. They are parents to two adult children, both graduates of Bedford High School, and proud grandparents of three boys. Mrs. Boyington has spent most of her life advocating for individuals with disabilities.
Her past employments (for over 25 years) were in the field of mental health and building meaningful relationships with clients with cerebral palsy, for whom she trained and secured employment. Her drive to help individuals overcome barriers that may impact their learning and growth, led her to pursue a career in education (her true passion) that continued her advocacy of equality for all children. Mrs. Boyington is a graduate of Cleveland State University, where she holds degrees in the following areas of Education: Bachelor of Science (Early Childhood P-3) and Master of Education, Curriculum and Instruction, (Intervention Specialist, K-12, Mild/Moderate).
Mrs. Boyington earned her reading endorsement (K-12) that provides opportunities to assist struggling readers. Mrs. Boyington continues to advocate for children and strive for education excellence in her current position as a third-grade educator at Westwood Elementary School in the Warrensville Heights City School District (WHCSD). Providing instruction in an inclusion, self-contained, co-teacher model setting, her class satisfied (100%, past two years) the requirements, set by the State of Ohio, of The Third Grade Reading Guarantee. She was one of a team of teachers and administrators of the Westwood Elementary School who was recognized by the International Center for Leadership in Education and named Model School 2019, for data-validated growth, evidence of a strong culture that puts students at the center of learning and transforming instruction to meet the needs and demands of the future.
During Mrs. Boyington's tenure in the WHCSD, she has served on the Building and District Leadership Teams, Curriculum Department committee, School Improvement Plan, Ohio Teacher Evaluation System committee (current), and as Warrensville Education Association building representative (current), as well as being the recipient of the Teacher of the Quarter Award (2017). Mrs. Boyington is also a member (over 25 years) of the Mt. Zion Church of Oakwood Village under the leadership of Dr. Larry L. Macon, Sr., actively serving in the children's ministry. Mrs. Boyington's term expires on December 31, 2023.
