    This is Dr. Cassandra J. Johnson's 28th year as an educator. Prior to coming to Bedford City School District to serve as the Assistant Superintendent for the past 4.5 years, Dr. Johnson graduated from Ashland University with her undergraduate degree in Computer Science Education in spring of 1994. Her first teaching job was with the Dublin City School District at Grizzell Middle School (the first year the building opened) in 1994. She taught at GMS for 5 years. She obtained a Masters in Computer Science (Curriculum & Instruction) from Ashland University during this time period. She later earned her licensure in 4-9 and 7-12 Principalship  from Ashland University as well. December 14, 2014, Dr. Johnson graduated from Concordia University Chicago with a  PhD in Educational Leadership along with her superintendent licensure.

    After relocating to the Cleveland area with her husband in 2000, Dr. Johnson was hired by the Lakewood City School District to teach computer education at Emerson Middle School. She taught computer education for one year and served as an administrative intern in her second year. In her 3rd year, she was appointed to the role of assistant principal of Emerson Middle School. She served as the assistant principal for Emerson Middle School for 3 years.

    At the end of her 3rd year as a Lakewood City School District administrator, she was hired as the assistant principal of Parma Senior High School with the Parma City School District. After serving as assistant principal for a year, she was promoted to serve as building principal of Parma Senior High School,  the first African American High School Principal for the Parma City School District. She served as the HS principal for 6 years before being promoted to Director of Human Resources for the Parma City School District where she served for 6 years. 

    In addition to the above teaching and administrative roles, Dr. Cassandra Johnson is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, currently serves as President Elect of OASPA (Ohio Association of School Personnel Administrators), has served as the OASSA (Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators) Zone 6 Director for several years, is the former President of CAMERA (Cleveland Area Minority Educator Recruitment Association), a proud member of Metro C.A.B.S.E, and a member of the OASSA Women’s Leadership Conference Committee. She has served as an adjunct professor for Baldwin Wallace and Concordia University Chicago and is a current adjunct for Walsh University.
