• Automotive Technology

    This two-year Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.) and National Automotive Technician Education Foundation (NATEF) certified program, is designed to develop entry-level automotive technician skills in the maintenance and repair of automobiles. Students will learn automotive theory in a real-world setting, and apply academic skills in a relevant way. Students will apply those skills by working with state-of-the-art equipment and technology to access service information, technical training, and web-based testing. In the junior year, students will focus on shop safety, preventative maintenance, tire repair and service, brake systems, steering and suspension, electrical and electronics. In the senior year, students will further develop learned skills while adding engine repair, engine performance, emissions repairs, heating, and air conditioning, computer diagnostics, transmission service, and largely focusing on work skills in the lab setting by performing repairs on customer’s vehicles. Students will be scheduled to do this course for three periods daily.  Senior students who meet the requirements have the opportunity for early job placement. All students will take the various A.S.E. Certification exams. 


    DNA
    Biotechnlology

    Biotechnology is a one-year course that studies the biological makeup of organisms. Students in this program will study the molecular, biological, genetic, and immunological make-up of cells. DNA methodology is introduced. Students interested in this program should have a strong science background. Post-secondary instruction is necessary for employment in this field.



    Clinical Health

    This introductory course provides students with an overview of the opportunities available in the healthcare industry. Students will learn fundamental skills in effective and safe patient care, basic health care protocols and receive an introduction to exercise science and sports medicine.


     


    Business Management

    As a participant in this two-year program, students will learn core management principles while completing projects in the classroom that simulate an office environment. They will develop competencies in entrepreneurship, business communication, project management, and operations management as they learn about the skills needed to start their own business. Students will also develop their technology skills by learning and utilizing real-world business software applications. Each student is assigned a computer and will learn business software including Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word to complete business-related projects and simulations. The program is designed to prepare students for an entry-level position in the business environment and/or college readiness.


     


    Financial Management

    This program provides students with the necessary skills to analyze data, turn data into information for decision-making, and share forecasting information with management. Concentration includes the areas of accounting, investment banking, money management, financial planning, insurance, real estate, and risk management. Students work in an office setting while they prepare for entry-level business opportunities.

     


     


    Marketing Management

    The Marketing Management program for juniors introduces the students to the specializations offered in Marketing. Students will obtain fundamental knowledge and skills in marketing communications, marketing management, marketing research, merchandising, and professional selling. Juniors will also develop and implement marketing strategies and techniques across marketing functions: channel management, market planning, pricing, product/service management and branding.

    In Marketing Management II, seniors will create, execute, and evaluate promotional strategies and content for advertising, sales promotion, and publicity/public relations. They will apply project management techniques to guide and control promotional campaign development and execution. Social responsibility and ethics in Marketing will be explored.

    Seniors enrolled in the program are required to work a minimum of 15 hours per week at an approved training station, (place of employment).Students receive standard wages for their employment and are placed in positions related to their individual career pathway. Seniors are released early from the regular bell schedule to allow time for employment.

    Active participation in the Career Technical Student Organization DECA will help students learn technology, employability skills, leadership, and effective communication.



    Digital Media

    This focus of digital design is placing cutting edge technology in the hands of students and exposing them to basic design and production principles in the image generation, digital animation, and television and film production fields. Additionally, students will learn the principles of composition and interactive application development for use in student-designed video games and will learn industry standard programming languages and constructs to write programs and create games that feature the principles of design and game play. Students will learn how to design game elements, including artificial intelligence, physics engines, and animation.
